We had this Elk that messed up his rack last year when growing and again this year.
Saturday, Dad had the brilliant idea to have Mom shoot it with a bow for meat, for her first time shooting a bow, and for her first time shooting an Elk.
And so, that afternoon Dad Mom and I (Sandra) went out to hunt him down. I went to video.
So as the story goes, we went in the woods somewhere and found this particular bull. It took several tries till she was able to get a shot off. But even then, the bull turned when the arrow flew and nailed him in the shoulder a little low.
And so. It took even several more tries till she finally got another opportunity, and she hit him good. But it wasn't a heart shot, so Dad said she should put another one in him.
So we did another stalk and she left the arrow fly again, only.....it missed....he ran....we then got up on him again, and she shot....But. Yeah. It ended up that the last two arrows were bad ones, and she missed it then too.
So we started walking back, thinking she'd have to finish with a gun...But BINGO! We found the arrow she shot him with the 2nd time. We did another stalk, and she did a perfect heart shot! And he doubled over.
The results! :)
We all are proud of our Mom!
